I found it really difficult to find information for this topic. I found that a lot of authors have the same reasons as to why they think children should not be able to watch television. Many of the articles I found said the same things so I had to use different sites in order to find scholarly sources for my paper. I really wanted to include points in my paper that discussed reasons why children SHOULD be allowed to watch television. or at least be exposed to it but not many people are out here saying that television is amazing and children should always be allowed to watch it. If I did deeper research with this topic I would like to have another person with me so we could talk about what we read because some articles were kind of hard to tear apart.

For my essay I wanted to write about the negative effects of letting young children watch television or be on a phone. Electronics have become a norm in todays society and it kind of expected for children to have a phone to play games on or for them to watch televisions as a pastime. I want to inform on some of the reasons why children should not watch television and give reasons like obesity or no social skills. I believe this topic needs to be discussed because the amount of time spent watching television is 3 times higher than how much time we should be watching a day. I also want to show how television can help children learn and that television is not the bad thing, just watching too much television is bad.
